Jasmine Porter, M.Ed.

Growing up as the youngest of three has instilled in Jasmine great wisdom. Jasmine’s mother continuously encourages her to achieve beyond what dreams could imagine.

As a first-generation college student, Jasmine earned the opportunity to attend Virginia Tech studying Human Development. After successful completion of her undergraduate degree, she went on to complete her Master of Education in Counselor Education with a concentration in College Counseling and Student Development from Virginia Commonwealth University. She looks forward to contributing great knowledge and effort to the field as she embarks on her PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision beginning in the Fall of 2022.

She is a native of Newport News, Virginia. Jasmine is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She enjoys event planning and travel on her free time. She has a great love for her puppy, Mellow. Last, but not least, she genuinely loves being with her family, partner, and friends.

Professional Experience

More than anything, her career journey thus far shows that career is not linear. In five solid words, she describes herself as inquisitive, flexible, detailed-oriented, innovative, and connected. Some strengths that she brings as a professional are: training and facilitation, advising, cultural competence, public speaking, supervision, project management, multicultural counseling and advocacy.
